Well, my Plantronics Voyager UC work headset finally decided to give me problems. While it is a quick fix (microphone connection needs to be re-soldered), I figured I would upgrade to a more ‘gaming’ model. I will probably still use the Plantronics for work after fixing since the new headset isn’t Bluetooth enabled. While I love my old Plantronics headset, I must say, being able to stay in Corsair’s ecosystem with the VOIC RGB ELITE lets me eliminate another app and control my RGB across my Corsair keyboard, mouse, headset, RAM, and motherboard. So, after finding a little time in between network projects this weekend to game, I figured I would share my thoughts on the product.
The CORSAIR VOID RGB ELITE Wireless Gaming Headset stands out in the competitive market of gaming peripherals, promising a blend of performance, comfort, and style. This review dives deep into its features, strengths, weaknesses, and how it stacks up against other models in its class.
Overview and Design
The CORSAIR VOID RGB ELITE Wireless Gaming Headset is designed with gamers in mind, offering a combination of immersive sound, customizable RGB lighting, and a comfortable fit for long gaming sessions; it features 50mm neodymium drivers that deliver rich audio, from deep bass to clear highs, enhancing both gameplay and multimedia experiences.
In terms of design, the VOID RGB ELITE sports a sleek, modern aesthetic with customizable RGB lighting zones on each earcup. The headset is primarily made of lightweight materials, making it comfortable to wear for extended periods without causing discomfort or fatigue.

Features and Specifications
- Wireless Connectivity: Utilizes a 2.4GHz wireless connection for low-latency, high-fidelity audio transmission, providing freedom of movement up to a range of 40 feet.
- Battery Life: Boasts up to 16 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, ensuring uninterrupted gaming sessions. The headset can also be used while charging via USB cable.
- Microphone Quality: Features a unidirectional microphone with noise-canceling technology, ensuring clear communication with teammates without background distractions.
- Compatibility: Compatible with PC and PlayStation consoles, offering versatility for various gaming setups.
- Customization: Integrated with CORSAIR’s iCUE software, allowing users to personalize RGB lighting effects, EQ settings, and microphone settings to suit their preferences.
Strengths
One of the standout features of the CORSAIR VOID RGB ELITE is its audio performance. The 50mm drivers deliver a balanced sound profile suitable for gaming, music, and movies, with punchy bass and crisp treble. The wireless connectivity ensures freedom of movement without sacrificing audio quality, making it ideal for gamers who prioritize both performance and convenience.
Comfort is another major strength. The headset’s lightweight design, combined with plush memory foam earpads and a padded headband, provides excellent comfort even during marathon gaming sessions. The adjustable earcups and headband cater to various head sizes, ensuring a snug fit for most users.
I have a rather large head, and some headsets I have worn before caused pain after a certain amount of time. The VOID RBG ELITE’s size and construction materials seemed to be up to the task, fully enclosing both ears to prevent sharp edges from pressing up against my skin. Overall, much more comfortable!
The inclusion of customizable RGB lighting adds a touch of personalization, allowing users to sync lighting effects with other CORSAIR peripherals for a cohesive gaming setup.
Weaknesses
While the CORSAIR VOID RGB ELITE excels in many areas, there are a few considerations to note. Some users may find the microphone quality adequate but not exceptional compared to dedicated studio-grade microphones. The wireless range, while generally sufficient for most gaming setups, may experience occasional signal drops or interference in environments with heavy wireless traffic.
Additionally, the battery life, while adequate for typical gaming sessions, may require more frequent charging compared to some competing models that offer longer battery endurance.
While the fault is mine, I didn’t realize this headset isn’t Bluetooth-enabled, so being able to take calls while listening to music or gaming is a no go. However, I do like the idea of using two headsets (one for work and one for personal), to better separate the two activities.
Comparison with Other Models
When compared to similar wireless gaming headsets like the SteelSeries Arctis 7 or the Razer Nari Ultimate, the CORSAIR VOID RGB ELITE holds its ground with competitive audio quality and comfort; it distinguishes itself with its customizable RGB lighting and intuitive software integration, offering a more personalized gaming experience. However, potential buyers may prioritize different features such as battery life or microphone quality, where competitors might offer slight advantages.
